This is my first blog I have ever written so be easy on me…

My blog is going to cover an array of topics: decorating, fresh flowers, gift ideas, seasonal décor, and much more. Today though, I’m just going to give you little slice of my life, what I like and what I do.

Who am I? I’m Heather Stephens-Foltz, born and raised in St. Edward, Nebraska, town of 800ish. Newly married, no kids, enjoy cooking, traveling and socializing. Cheers!

And these are a few of my favorite things…

COLOR: anything bright, lime green, aqua, yellows, oranges, etc. – you will understand this is more of an obsession after I give you a sneak peek of my house in my next blog!

TREND: knick-knacks and shelving. The new shelving options are the BOMB, the shapes, textures and designs tickle my fancy. Then you have to fill the shelves with STUFF, lots and lots of stuff! Old, new, pictures frames, vases, succulents, plaques, orbs—don’t worry also another blog!

TEXTURE: Wall décor is no longer just a framed print or canvas, it’s spikes, lanterns, 3-D metal, ceramic cow heads—yes, I have one, feathers, oh my! And if you do need something more low-key, the new prints and canvases share some of the uniqueness, canvases with a 3-D look/texture, prints also pushing the limits to give more depth.

CANDLES: Funky candles. They are so easy to decorate with–sit me on the table, light me and done, oh, and I smell good, that’s called multi-tasking ladies. Then once the candle is done you have something else to set on one of your shelves…Light bulb: great gift idea.

I have worked at St. Edward Floral for over three years. I do it all—fresh and silk floral designing, decorating, vacuuming, dusting, delivering flowers and much more. I was given this amazing opportunity by my mom who has owned the floral shop for 27 years. Definition of Lady Boss she is. She has taught me everything I know about this business and I still learn and ask new questions every day. The point of my blog is to share my ‘always-learning’ wisdom in the floral, gift and home décor departments.

Always think outside of the box,

Heather
